We are empowered by a force greater than all of humanity, all of the universe, and everything therein. This force is the Holy Ghost. He is the spirit that guides us unto to eternity, therefore be assured, you are never alone...
“Sent by Christ and empowered by the Holy Ghost”.
Scripture for meditation:
“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
Matthew 3:11 NLT
Never alone:
Great men and women of power seem to have a common denominator; self-confidence. God has no use for these individuals. God is seeking those who are so insecure in their own ability, that they have no choice but to turn to Him. We are empowered by a force greater than all of humanity, all of the universe, and everything therein. This force is the Holy Ghost. He is the spirit that guides us unto to eternity, therefore be assured, you are never alone.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live. When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
John14:16-21 NLT
Emptied:
God has no use for men filled with pride, self, and the distractions of the world. We now know the importance of a constant commitment to give our will over to God by the continual and willful exercise of giving up control. We are now coming in prayer before His altar and presenting Him with all the things that keep us from Him, presenting them as a living sacrifice. This has a very powerful purpose; to empty us.
Empowered:
As our will is being poured out daily, God can start filling us. He is empowering us with the Holy Spirit. The dictionary meaning of empower is to “give (someone) the authority or power to do something.” Jesus Christ commissioned us, but the power is found in the filling by the Holy Ghost.
“And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31 ESV
And commissioned:
Jesus spoke with power, but his actions affected the moral climate of those He touched. In a way, He was an embodiment of the old saying “actions speak louder than words”. You have been commissioned to do a great work. This work requires more action than promises. Will you be sent?
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
Take away:
God never expected you to do these things alone. He promised to be with us until “the end”. whatever “end” you meet, be assured of this; you are not alone, you are not powerless, and you have indeed been commissioned. You have been chosen by the Father, commissioned by the Son, and empowered by the Spirit. The question is, are you willing?
