RECEIVING SPIRITUAL WISDOM

Human wisdom is much different from the wisdom imparted by the Spirit. Human wisdom is confined by the limitations of our earthly minds, subject to ever-shifting desires and restricted knowledge. In stark contrast, the wisdom granted by the Spirit is eternal, directly emanating from the Father. The Book of Ephesians further explains spiritual wisdom within the following verses:

17"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,"

Spiritual wisdom is imparted by the Holy Spirit as you progress in your relationship with God. It is important to know that God wants to "enlighten" you in order for you to perceive the world in a different light. It is your duty to now live and move in this light so that the Lord may continually reveal the hidden wisdom that no man can achieve on their own. This is the wisdom that allows you to produce fruit in your personal life, while directly impacting those around you. The Lord wants to use you in order to minister to others on a daily basis, therefore enlightening your mind and understanding so that you may better reflect Christ.

Becoming more Christ-like is a journey of spiritual growth and transformation. Here are some practical steps to help you in this process:

  1. Study the Bible: The Bible is the primary source for understanding Jesus and His teachings. Regularly read and study the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) to learn about His life, actions, and words.

  2. Prayer and Meditation: Spend time in prayer and meditation to deepen your connection with God. Jesus often withdrew to solitary places to pray and seek guidance from the Father.

  3. Imitate Christ's Character: Focus on embodying the virtues and character traits that Jesus demonstrated, such as love, compassion, humility, forgiveness, and patience.

  4. Serve Others: Jesus dedicated His life to serving others. Look for opportunities to help those in need, demonstrate kindness, and show love through your actions.

  5. Forgive Freely: Jesus emphasized forgiveness. Practice forgiveness in your own life, letting go of grudges and resentments. This not only aligns with His teachings but also brings peace to your heart.

  6. Develop a Spirit of Humility: Jesus exemplified humility throughout His life. Cultivate a spirit of humility by acknowledging your dependence on God, valuing others above yourself, and being open to learning and growth.

  7. Community and Fellowship: Surround yourself with a community of believers who share the same goal. Support and accountability are essential for spiritual growth.

  8. Live According to God's Word: Strive to align your actions, decisions, and lifestyle with the teachings of the Bible. Allow God's Word to be the guiding principle in your life.

  9. Practice Gratitude: Jesus expressed gratitude to God. Develop a habit of thanksgiving, recognizing and appreciating the blessings in your life.

  10. Seek the Holy Spirit: Invite the Holy Spirit into your life for guidance, empowerment, and transformation. The Spirit helps believers grow into the likeness of Christ.

Remember that becoming more Christ-like is a lifelong process, and each person's journey is unique. Be patient with yourself, rely on God's grace, and trust in His transformative power.
